BT has opened a new technology showroom to supplement a bid response centre in Singapore to help impress regional governments and multinationals headquartered in the city state.
BT also says it is creating more than 130 new jobs in Singapore and has hired more than 100 executives across Asia since September 2010. It says it is filling around 300 new positions in its key customer markets of Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan and Singapore.
BT set up its bid response centre (BRC) in Singapore to boost its chances of landing large regional managed services deals.
Customers can see BT's latest video conferencing equipment and networked IT applications, and try out technologies and services such as wide area network optimisation, next generation contact centres, unified communications, IP telephony and other innovations.
The opening of the Singapore centre follows similar launches in Hong Kong in September 2010, Beijing in November and Sydney in January 2011. These are networked with BT's showcase centres in London and New York.
