Best Buy launches transactional website

Eletricals retailer Best Buy has launched a transactional website in a bid to expand its reach and sell to consumers across the UK.

The US company, which has six stores in Britain, says its new website is a key milestone for the business.

The site will feature customer reviews of products, and the company's TechXpert platform allows customers to submit video reviews.

DeVere Forster, managing director for online at Best Buy UK, said, "The launch of our e-commerce store on marks a key milestone for the business and helps to make buying technology simple, inspiring and tailored to each of our customers. We are very excited that customers from across the UK will now be able to experience the Best Buy brand for the first time."

Best Buy's European expansion was heralded by its 2008 £1.1bn acquisition of 50% of Carphone Warehouse.
