Google has revamped its enterprise search appliance to enable business users to search for corporate data in the cloud.

In a blog post, Rajat Mukherjee, group product manager, enterprise search, said, "In the past year businesses have started using cloud-based applications. Business information today is living in the cloud."

Google has unveiled Cloud Connect for the Google Search Appliance, which Mukherjee said enables staff to search across both on-premises and cloud-based content from a single search box,

Cloud Connect displays personalised results from Google Docs and Google Sites file shares and content management repositories, he said. Cloud Connect also lets users search content from Twitter, blogs and industry websites via Google Site Search.
