Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer today launched Windows Phone 7. Speaking at the launch he said, "We wanted the Windows Phone to be always delightful."

He said the phone should also be "wonderfully mine".

The devices needed diversity in experience, according to Ballmer, with nine phones available when the OS ships in November.

Microsoft UK's enterprise chief, Andrew Lees said the operating system aimed to simply mobile phones.
