Betfair takes online gambling to the iPad

Online gambling firm Betfair has added to its portfolio of interactive betting tools with the launch of an iPad app.

Earlier this year the company introduced a tool for betting through interactive television, as well as an iPhone app, and its portfolio has now been extended to the popular Apple tablet.

"The release of the Betfair iPad application is another example of us offering our customers the most cutting-edge methods of placing their bets," said Betfair's global director of user experience, Don Fotsch.

"We are pushing the boundaries when it comes to adapting our products to the latest web and technology trends, reflecting our entrepreneurial roots and obsession with delivering engaging customer experiences."

Betfair's growth and commitment to developing software for new platforms such as the iPad is opening up new opportunities for IT professionals to join the company. Last month the firm announced nearly 100 job vacancies for people with expertise in areas including C#, C++, SQL Server and Java, as well as outsourcing consultants, quality assurance and internet security specialists.
