Steel company ArcelorMittal is migrating all of its messaging systems to Microsoft Exchange 2010 under a five-year outsourcing deal with Indian IT services company Wipro Technologies.

The system will be hosted at six Wipro datacentres.

Wipro will also manage the Luxembourg-based company's global messaging systems for the duration of the contract.

"This is vital for us as today's communication and collaboration is highly dependent on this service," said Patrick Vandenberghe, group CIO at ArcelorMittal.

NS Bala, senior vice-president at Wipro, said the deal will help strengthen the supplier's international presence.

Earlier this month Wipro signed an agreement Citibank to take over the management of its datacentre in Germany, establishing the Indian-based company's first datacentre resource in Europe.
