Man arrested for hacking Barack Obama and Britney Spears' Twitter accounts

Ian Grant

A 25-year-old unemployed Frenchman hacked US president Barack Obama's Twitter account simply by guessing the answers to password reminder questions, Reuters reports.

The man was arrested after an investigation lasting several months by FBI agents and French police. He will appear in court on 24 June. If convicted, he faces up to two years in jail.

French police said the man, aka Hacker Croll, had no specialist training. They also accused him to breaking into Britney Spears' Twitter account.
