Transport for London (TfL) has appointed former British Energy CIO Ian Campbell as its new chief information officer.
Campbell led a two-year business change programme at British Energy and has also worked for Royal Mail and examinations board Cambridge Assessment.

He was also group CIO at Energis (now Cable & Wireless), where he "drove business growth of internet services and telecoms".
At TfL Campbell will work on a billion-pound investment in public transport services in London. TfL is also working on a £5bn programme to "safeguard investment and frontline services".
He said, "I am delighted to have joined TfL at this critical time in the delivery of its hugely ambitious investment programme to upgrade and expand London's transport network. I will be working with TfL colleagues to ensure that we have the right approaches to information management in place to support the business requirements of all users."
