Dell has completed the integration of its $3.9bn acquisition of Perot Systems with the formation of Dell Servi...
The company claimed the acquisition will benefit its customers by making information technology easier to access and simpler to manage.
"Dell now has a comprehensive and growing set of leading solutions that meet customer needs, so they can manage their IT most efficiently," said Peter Altabef, president of Dell Services. "The Dell Services and Perot heritage of strong customer focus positions us extremely well to help customers of all types and sizes use IT to solve problems and derive the best value from their technology investments."
Dell said it now has a $7.5bn services arm, with 42,000 staff. It expects services to become a major part of the Dell business.
Dell plans to offer businesses greater automation to lower labour requirements, IT-as-a-service payment models and remote IT management.
