Security firm McAfee has completed the $140m acquisition of cloud-based e-mail and web security provider MX Logic.
McAfee will pay an additional $30m if certain performance targets are met as the firm seeks to offer the most comprehensive cloud-based security portfolio in the industry.
The acquisition is aimed at enabling customers to use cloud-based services to simplify their security architecture, said Marc Olesen, general manager at McAfee.
The MX Logic team will report to the McAfee Software-as-a-Service business unit, headed by Olesen.
