Apple bans “pornographic” Hottest Girls iPhone app

Warwick Ashford

Just days after the Hottest Girls iPhone app was launched, Apple has confirmed it has been banned from the iTunes App Store.

The rating of 17+ for the Hottest Girls app did not stretch as far as expected when it was launched to include sexual content or nudity.

According to Apple, the application for sending pictures of women to iPhone subscribers broke the no pornography rule when it began including nude images.

"The developer of this application added inappropriate content directly from their server after the application had been approved and distributed," Apple said in a statement.

The application will no longer be available on the App Store because of the "direct violation of the terms of the iPhone Developer Program", Apple said.
