London Stock Exchange and Borsa e-trades up 46% last month

Electronic trading across the London Stock Exchange and the Borsa Italiana was up 46% in a year during February.
The London Stock Exchange acquired Milan-based exchange Borsa Italiana last year.
A total of 21.2 million electronic equity trades were carried out on the London Stock Exchange and Borsa Italiana during February.
The total value traded was £259.5bn, up 16% on February last year.
The average daily number of electronic equity trades increased 39% to one million, while the average daily value traded grew 10% to £12.4bn.
