Archiving software provider
QStar Technologies has
certified Panasonic's Blu-ray archiving box for its HSM archival
storage software platform.
The
Panasonic's ADA (Advanced Disc for Archive) Blu-ray storage
technology is the first Blu-ray media enclosed in a protective
cartridge, enabling much greater data integrity and more secure
offline media management than bare media, according to
Panasonic.
QStar said it is working with Panasonic and IT integrator
Rorke Data
to create a network-attached DICOM Store appliance using ADA for
medical imaging archiving. The 50Gbyte storage capacity, fast
random data access and robust protective cartridge make ADA ideally
suited for the needs of a PACS environment, QStar said.
QStar's HSM provides multi-level archive management with
mirroring, which controls the storage location and retention
periods of archive records throughout their lifecycle.
