Google has arranged an event at its headquarters in
California which could reveal more details about the operating
system it hopes will challenge Microsoft's dominance.
According
to reports, journalists will attend an event, at Google's
headquarters in California, on Thursday 19 November. This comes
days after
TechCrunch reported that the
Google chrome operating system would be available for download in a
week.
The operating system, called
Google Chrome OS, is an open source, lightweight operating
system. Google Chrome OS will initially be aimed at netbook
PCs.
Google plans to open-source the operating system later this year
and expects netbooks running Google Chrome OS to be available in
the second half of 2010.
