3UK is to package unlimited access to the Spotify music
jukebox site onto the Android-based HTC Hero mobile handset for a
November launch. Pricing is £99 plus £35 per month.
The HTC Hero will be the first Android handset to launch on 3.
Billed as an iPhone killer, it has a touch screen, five megapixel
camera, personalisation features and access to thousands of
applications from Android Marketplace.
Spotify gives UK internet users access to a universal jukebox of
high-quality music on their desktops and mobile phones. Spotify on
3 delivers this extensive jukebox over its 3G network and provides
access to playlists while offline.
The package includes unlimited Spotify Premium for mobile and PC
for 24months (worth £240), 750 minutes to other mobiles, unlimited
texts and calls to other 3 numbers, unlimited e-mail, internet
browsing and Facebook calls, and free Skype-to-Skype calls.
3's director of products & services Charlotte Blanchard said
3 would offer Spotify on other 3 products in time, including mobile
broadband. Potential customers can
register their interest in
Spotify on 3.
