Sage enters top end of mid market
Sage has entered the upper mid market with an ERP product that
is designed to appeal to customers that are begining to invest in
IT as climbing out of recession.
The software vendor has launched its ERP X3 products into the UK
after selling it in 30 plus other countries developing a customer
base that tops 2,500.
"If ERP is strategically important then money is back on the
table but the buyers are very cost price sensitive," said Jim
Scott, general manager of Sage's enterprise business.
He said that most customers had both entered and exited a
financial year during the recession and had changed their
businesses and were now again looking at investing in technology
that would make a difference to their operations.
"Our own evidence and all of the research from customers and
resellers shows us that people are looking to invest again but are
price sensitive," he added.
Scott said that it had already had lengthy conversations with
resellers and had negotiated with those business partners that
would be selling ERP X3 offering marketing support and
training.
