Cisco yesterday announced a one-screen, one-camera
telepresence system for multipurpose conference rooms.
The new system is suitable for up to two people in a
multipurpose conference room. It uses the standard 65in plasma
screen and fits in small, general-use meeting rooms.
The Telepresence System 1100 doubles as a high-quality
audio-conferencing device, an auxiliary display for presentations,
or a digital sign, if used with the integrated Cisco Digital Media
Player.
The system is available through Cisco resellers AT&T, BT,
Orange, NTT, Tata Communications, Telefonica, Telstra and Telmex in
more than 150 countries.
Cisco said more than nine million people in 350 organisations
have intercompany corporate access to telepresence systems and
intercompany telepresence traffic is growing more than 35% a
month.
