Pentagon hacker Tenenbaum pleads guilty to fraud

A former Pentagon hackerpleaded guilty last week to hacking US banks in a scheme believed to have cost banks at least $10m.

Ehud Tenenbaum, who as "The Analyzer" hacked more than 400 military systems when just 19, pleaded guilty in New York last week to a single count of bank-card fraud.

The Israeli hacker, whom former Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu once described as "damned good" and "very dangerous", was earlier arrested in Canada for allegedly stealing about $1.5m from Canadian banks.

He was extradited to the US before Canadian authorities could prosecute him where he was charged with conspiracy to commit access-device fraud and access-device fraud.

Tenenbaum now faces up to 15 years in prison.
