Partygaming engineer wins Red Hat award

Alex Davies, a 22-year-old IT engineer at online gaming sitePartygaming, has won theRed Hat Certified Engineer(RHCE) of the Year contest for Europe.

According to Red Hat, Davies, the youngest IT engineer at Partygaming, runs a global web and MySQL cluster. The RHCE training has allowed Davies to identify ways to improve uptime, scalability and performance on his systems, Red Hat said.

The other winners were:

  • Bernard Chew, Singapore
  • John Rose, North America
  • Balaji Sirasani, India

"This year's winners have gone above and beyond the norm to deliver value to their organisations through their proven knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and other Red Hat technologies," said Randy Russell, director of certification for Red Hat.
