A former employee at an Apple site in Florida is suing
the company for failing to pay for extra hours worked.
Kenyon Zahner, believed to have worked as a Mac technician,
claims Apple expects employees to work over 40 hours a week without
overtime pay,
according to reports.
But Florida state law requires companies to pay overtime to
non-managerial employees.
Zahner has filed a class action lawsuit against Apple, seeking
compensation for himself and other Apple employees allegedly not
paid for overtime.
Apple is yet to file a formal response in the case, but
observers say the lawsuit
could be costly as
IBM settled similar claims in 2006 for $65m.
