Clubhas deployed an e-mail management system fromExclaimerto help
it manage corporate branding and marketing.
As the club prepares to kick off its Premiership challenge with
a match against Arsenal on 15 August, David Sumner, systems analyst
at Everton FC, has deployed
Mail Utilities and
Signature Manager from Exclaimer to centrally manage e-mail
signatures and disclaimers for users of Microsoft Outlook.
Although users were able to set a signature in Outlook
themselves, these could not be
controlled centrally.
"One of the major problems we encountered with the Outlook
signature function was the lack of control we had. As there was no
central control over or limitations to the Outlook signatures and
disclaimers, users were able to change and alter the signatures
themselves, leaving this open to flamboyant styles and creative job
titles," Sumner said.
"It also meant that every time there was an
update to our disclaimer or new legislation was announced, we
had to visit each user's PC and manually make the alterations,
which was incredibly time-consuming."
Sumner has also installed the
AD
Pictures application from Exclaimer, which enables photos and
images to be uploaded to Everton's Microsoft Active Directory. This
means that when users send internal e-mails, the sender's
photograph appears in the e-mail signature.
