Palm sold more than 300,000 Palm Pre handsets in June, the
company announced today.
This compares to one million
new iPhones sold in the first weekend of sales and Samsung's
claim of
two million pre orders for its Jet phone.
The Palm Pre smartphone went on sale on 6 June. It is up against
tough competition from the iPhone 3G S, the
Samsung Jet and the
Nokia N97,
all of which were launched last month.
