Three-quarters of iPhone users have already upgraded to the latest version of the device's operating system.
iPhone software maker Tapbots reported the figures on its website. Tapbots monitored hits made on its server as iPhones access its software and identified which OS the iPhone that made the hit was using.
iPhone OS 3.0 was launched on 17 June. The latest iPhone was launched on 19 June.
"We are currently running at an overall 75% upgrade rate which is pretty insane considering the number of devices and the fact that its only been five days," said the Tapbots website.
iPhone owners can download the software from iTunes for free. iPod Touch users can get it for $9.95.
