Communications minister Stephen Carter is expected to leave
government, according to areport in The Times.
If confirmed by the government, Carter's departure will be a
blow to its plans for implementing a joined up communications
policy.
Carter is expected to publish the final
Digital Britain report next week. The report addresses problems
faced by the telecommunications, broadcasting and publishing
sectors that stem from the switch from analogue to digital
production and distribution of content now gathering pace.
The Times report quoted Lord Carter saying, "I'm beavering away
feverishly on my report, that's my only preoccupation."
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport had not responded to
requests to confirm the Times report by the time of writing.
