Businesses like Dell and Cisco are using Salesforce.com's
Salesforce Sales Cloud platform to boost their sales performance by
as much as 34%, according to Marc Benioff, CEO of
Salesforce,com.
The Sales Cloud is the company's platform for allowing users to
manage and share contacts, forecasts and presentations to support
sales teams. Speaking at the Cloudforce conference at ExCel, in
London today, Benioff said businesses were seeing 34% sales revenue
increases using Sales Cloud.
Dell is one of the big companies that has had a quick return on
investment with Salesforce.com's Sales cloud product. He said,
"Michael Dell [CEO of Dell] wanted to automate all sales reps
gloabally and increase sales productivity by 10%, add an indirect
sales channel and put in place an ideas channel to capture customer
ideas."
He said Cisco is using the product to optimise its sales
channel. "John Chambers [CEO of Cisco] has 15,000 people in a
multi-lingual sales channel. He wanted to integrate [sales
automation] with VoIP and telepresence."
Bill Murphy, managing director of BT Business, said the company
has used the Sales Cloud to improve its sales prospects. "We are
all under pressure with budgets, and you need to move fast. Last
month we did 25,000 contracts all using e-signature. Our contract
processing went down from days and weeks using the post, to 40
minutes [with] e-signatures."
