A massive 79% of UK businesses will have some of their IT
functions performed overseas if Equaterra's latest survey is
anything to go by.
According to the sourcing consultany's latest study 66% of UK
companies already use offshore or nearshore locations to carry out
IT jobs. This was a rise of 9% compared to the study for the
previous year.
The study also revealed that another 13% are considering it.
The UK Service Provider Performance and Satisfaction: 2008-2009
study questioned more than100 IT heads at firms that accounted
for £8bn of UK outsourcing contracts.
"While the growth in outsourcing is continuing to accelerate,
our research shows it is being spearheaded by even faster expansion
in offshoring and nearshoring, as the market continues to globalise
rapidly," said the report.
