Yahoo has increased its share of the US search engine market for the fifth month in a row, while Google saw its share drop slightly last month.

According to market research firm Comscore, Yahoo again enjoyed a slight increase in its share of the market, going up half a point to 21%.

Google, on the other hand, saw its still dominant hold on the market slip half a point to 63%.

Yahoo's steady improvement in the US search engine market may yet encourage Microsoft to make another move on Yahoo, after bringing to an end its acquisitive circling around the firm last year.
