Parents in Birmingham can keep an eye on their kids' whereabouts
as they make their way to and from school on the school bus.
The Green Bus
company, which carries more than 1,400 children to and from
school each day in the Birmingham area, has deployed Wi-Fi internet
access on all its routes.
Child bus pass holders get free web access which can be used to
catch up on homework or, more importantly, link up each others' PSP
games consoles.
The Wi-Fi access point on each bus also incorporates GPS, which
means parents can keep an eye on the location of their child's
bus.
They can do this via a Google Maps interface via the Green Bus
website.
