Irish Life & Permanent Group (IL&P) has deployed
Attachmate Databridge to help the company cut the workload of its
existing Unisys platforms for Permanent TSB, its retail banking
business.
The pension and investment company has used the mainframe
migration technology to extract and move data from the Unisys hosts
system toimprove decision support and real-time data analysis.
Irish Life &
Permanent Group said that since integrating Attachmate
Databridge it has been been able to reduce mainframe resource
requirements and usage, offload various MIS reporting functions
from the mainframe environment, and manage its security
initiatives, using relational databases including Oracle and
SQL.
Paul Coakley, team leader of Unisys operations and technical
support for Irish Life & Permanent, said, "Having a
cost-effective way to clone [Unisys data] was critical to us, and
Databridge Enterprise Server made the process much more efficient
by cutting replication time from days to a matter of hours. We
expect savings of between 150K euros and 200k euros over the life
of the Unisys metered license contract."
The Attachmate Databridge product has helped Irish Life &
Permanent Group to replicate data, and clone key banking
systems.
