People in the North West of England are the most likely to bank
and shop online.
This is according to the Association of Payments and Clearing
Services (Apacs), which has created
an interactive map online to show how people in different
regions of the UK bank.
"We split it up regionally because in the past people have
complained that we do not offer enough information about the region
they live in," said a spokeswoman.
The map shows that people in the North West are the biggest
users of online banking and also make the most online purchases
every year.
According to Apacs 55% of people in the North West use online
banking and the average online shopper makes 18 buys every
year.
This compares to 48% of Londoners using online banking, where
those that shop online buy an average of 15 things each year.
