The government is aiming to save £170m a year with a new set of contracts for mobile voice and data services.

The services will be available through OGCbuying.solutions. OGCbuying.solutions is part of the Treasury, and provides the public sector with a route to buying products and services.

The suppliers who won the contracts include BT, O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodaphone.

Nigel George, project manager at Buying Solutions Mobile Solutions Project Manager, said the new contracts secure "existing benefits enjoyed by customers, provides new savings opportunities and satisfies the growing demand for more flexible mobile voice and data services designed to meet the demands of the transformational government agenda."
