Google isreportedto be preparing to take
itsChrome browserout of beta, with a
likely launch date of the "ready" browser some time in
January.
The beta version of Chrome has
barely made any impact on the browser market, according to web
analytics firms, which is not surprising considering that, as a
beta, it still contains bugs.
After overcoming security issues, Google has issued a fix to
enable Hotmail users to be able to read their e-mail on Chrome.
Such fixes are a good idea if Google wants OEMs to start
shipping their PCs and gadgets with Chrome pre-installed.
By telling the press that Chrome is coming out of beta, Google
hopes to persuade OEMs that its browser is ready. The firm gave a
similar re-assurance to the The Times newspaper about the
browser's impending readiness last month.
