The
UK Oracle User Group's annual survey of 550 Oracle users has
reported that 96% of Oracle customers are happy with the overall
function and features of Oracle development tools.
Ronan Miles, chairman of the UK Oracle User Group
(UKOUG) said the results showed
a concerted effort by the supplier to address the concerns of
PeopleSoft, JD Edwards,
Siebel and BEA users, who have became Oracle's customers since
the company
acquired the products over the last five years.
In spite of the positive feedback from members, Ronan Miles said
there were still areas that needed improvement: "Oracle is so
complex that it is not possible to understand all the various
issues affecting the whole user community." He said
businesses were still unsure about Fusion, Oracle's middleware
strategy, and few companies were using Oracle's online support
resource.
In previous years, JD Edwards users have felt left out of
Oracle's plans. But this issue does appear to have been redressed.
Oracle said it has released three major updates to the JD Edwards
Enterprise One product and the company will release version 9.1 in
2009.
Peter Adams, managing director of
Oxford
Instruments, a user of Enterprise One, said: "We have seen
continuous improvements."
