F-Secure has added data protection technology to its mobile
security software system to protect information held on stolen
smartphones.
F-Secure said the updated software includes "easy remote locking
and wiping of confidential data" if the phone is lost or
stolen.
"Smartphones have become an integral part of corporate networks
through common usage of virtual private networks and push-email
solutions. They need to be secured as part of the company's IT
infrastructure," said F-Secure.
The locking and data wiping technology is part of the new
F-Secure Mobile Security 5 system, which already protects devices
against mobile viruses.
