
An 18-year-old is being questioned for publishing false reports
that Apple
CEO Steve Jobs had
suffered a heart attack, which led to a huge drop in the
company's share price,
according to Bloomberg.
The news, whichwas published on CNN's citizen journalism website
CNN iReport early
this month, led to a fall in Apple's share price. It said Jobs had
been rushed to hospital after suffering chest pains.
"I have an insider who tells me that paramedics were called
after Steve claimed to be suffering from severe chest pains and
shortness of breath," said the posting.
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which regulates
US share trading, is investigating the motives of the teenager who
allegedly wrote the article.
According to Bloomberg, the SEC has not found any evidence of a
motive.
