Call analysis based on a roll out of
fixed/mobile convergence at a European manufacturer has
revealed that businesses could save £33 per user per month on every
desk phone replaced.
OnRelay, a provider of fixed/mobile convergence products,
conducted the analysis of more than 36,000 calls made by staff at
one of its customer's sites.
OnRelay CFO Marie Wold, said, "This study shows that when
employees are offered a complete desk phone alternative, they like
it and, quite simply, will use it. The upfront savings on hardware
make a critical difference in today's economy."
The call analysis also demonstrated that 72% of incoming
business calls made at the firm by users were answered.
OnRelay produces MBX, a product that allows users to replace
desk phone with mobiles, which can be switched from personal use to
business use, allowing calls to be transferred direct from the
office to the handset.
