Communications supplier Colt has given its 18 European
datacentres a clean bill of health following a
power outage that led to a major customer experiencing almost a
day of lost business last month.
Last month
Lastminute.com's website went offline for 11 hours when a Colt
datacentre in London, where it is hosted, experienced a power
outage.
Colt carried out
root cause analysis of the datacentre involved and discovered
the cause of the problem was a faulty circuit breaker in one data
hall.
Colt has now checked all its datacentres across Europe. "No more
occurrences of the root cause which led to the issue in London have
been found," said Colt.
The company said it had employed an independent company to check
the datacentres to ensure it gets to the bottom of the problem. The
independent analysis of Colt's facilities is almost complete and
confirms the findings, said Colt.
