UK IT skills body e-skills UK and BT are planning a new National
Skills Academy to raise the standard of the UK's IT workforce.
The move is part of e-skills UK's strategy of bringing the IT
and telecoms industries closer together when it comes to training,
in recognition of established converged IT and telecoms
technologies.
The new Academy plan was announced at an apprenticeships
conference hosted by the Apprenticeship Ambassadors Network in
London this week.
The academy aims to help IT staff gain external recognition of
their skills to help boost their career progression and help
employers boost productivity of new recruits.
