Irish Stock Exchange cuts off spam

The Irish Stock Exchange has solved its spam problems with a system from IronPort.

Up to 90% of the exchange's inbound e-mail consisted of spam and the organisation wanted a self-managed and easy-to-administer solution.

The IronPort system, which was deployed by Calyx, stops spam at the network gateway.

David Garrett, IT operations manager at the Irish Stock Exchange, said, "We have been delighted with the success of the implementations. We now have two single devices which have replaced multiple devices.

"This has provided savings both from a cost and time perspective. Calyx has helped us to resolve our issues with in-bound spam, trusted sites and web-related threats."
