A gigantic optical device, known as the Telectroscope, has enabled more than 50,000 people to see across the Atlantic.

The large optical attraction, which uses a broadband internet connection, sits near Tower Bridge with identical viewer near New York's Brooklyn Bridge. Visitors can view their equally inquisitive counterparts on the other side of the Atlantic in real-time.

Tiscali Business Services engineered the project, which created a two-site virtual private network across the Tiscali network from London to New York connecting to a telectroscope at each end.
