Everton Football Club has signed a deal with InfoMedia Services
to launch an official mobile Wap site and accompanying website to
increase sales.
InfoMedia, a
mobile content and services company, will build and manage
mobile services for the FA Premier League club.
The Wap portal mobile site, which will go live on Thursday 19
June, offers the latest news, ticket information, match previews
and post-match reaction.
InfoMedia will distribute the content via UK network operators
including T-Mobile, Orange and Tesco mobile, with
the service being available
off-portal or by texting "Everton" to 6178.
Downloadable and paid-for content will include official terrace
chants from Everton's ground Goodison Park, 3D animated players,
goal clips and match imagery.
Match highlights will be available from FA Premier League and
Uefa Cup games, along with classic archive matches and interviews
with the manager and players.
Mark Rowan, head of media and communications at Everton Football
Club, said, "The club is keen to embrace new technologies and fully
believes it has a big future in the mobile market."
