The
Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) expects to save
£250,000 a year by implementing
records management software.
RICS, which regulates 12,000 surveyor firms across the UK and
helps set and maintain standards in the industry, said the savings
would come from automating manual processes.
The software from Autonomy Meridio is part of a
case management system to improve access to information
relating to cases brought against firms in the industry.
Jon Freeman, senior project manager for RICS, said, "The case
management software has taken the complexity out of the regulation
process and resulted in better service delivery."
The software manages and tracks all case-related documents and
correspondence, including e-mails, faxes, letters and phone
calls.
RICS said authorised staff members now had easy access to the
most up-to-date and relevant case information from any location,
enabling a quick response to queries.
In another process optimisation project earlier this year,
RICS partnered with content management provider Jadu to improve
the performance of its online information resource for the property
industry.
The Isurv knowledge base enables property professionals to
access a library of legislative, official and practical information
using any web-enabled device.
