HP has unveiled a two-in-one
server blade platform, an offering that saves space by putting
two independent blade systems into a single enclosure slot.
The new system will provide improved data centre performance,
take up less floor space, and lower power usage, said HP.
The HP ProLiant BL2x220c G5 combines two independent servers
into a single blade slot, enabling customers to double compute
power and significantly reduce data centre space requirements.
HP said the system delivers 60% better performance per watt than
similar configurations on the market, and minimises cooling and
power costs.
The BL2x220c is aimed at the needs of cloud computing, Web 2.0
and HPC deployments.
