Mobile users are hanging on to their mobile phones for longer, resisting attempts by the operators and manufacturers to tempt them with newer and more feature-rich models.
A poll of 388 mobile users by Silicon.com revealed that 28% had owned their current mobile phone for one to two years.
In addition, 15% said they have had their mobile for two to three years, and 14% had been using the same model for three to five years.
On top of this, 13% had hung onto the same phone for five to 10 years, and 1% had been using their phone for more than 10 years.
The poll found that 16% have had their phone for less than a year, with 13% using it for under six months.
