BT is offering its broadband customers a smartphone
option so they can check their e-mail and surf the web while on the
move.
The BT ToGo device - worth £150, said BT - can be combined with
BT's Total Broadband Option 3 package.
For £23.99 a month - £5 more than the price of BT Total
Broadband Option 3 on its own - the BT Total Broadband Anywhere
option allows users to stay in touch using the smartphone in Wi-Fi
hotspots and on the Vodafone network.
When in range of an authorised Wi-Fi hotspot, the ToGo connects
to the internet at broadband speeds and provides cheaper calls
through the BT Broadband Talk3 option.
When out of Wi-Fi range, ToGo uses relatively slow GPRS wireless
technology to connect to the web. There is a 10MB monthly
out-of-range download allowance users pay extra if they go over
10MB.
The package also includes 50 call minutes and 50 texts on any
network at any time. Larger minute and text bundle options are also
available.
