Salesforce.com lays down investment challenge for budding software entrepreneurs

Salesforce.com and venture capital firm Eden Ventures have launched a Dragons' Den-style software investment challenge for budding software entrepreneurs.

The £1m Force.com Investment Challenge will see the winner get up to that amount to launch their software business.

After entrants have faced judging panels, Eden Ventures will announce the winner in November at Dreamforce 2008, Salesforce.com's user and developer conference.

"New investment models are required to match the new technology and business models made possible with platform-as-a-service and software-as-a-service delivery channels," said Marc Benioff, Salesforce.com CEO.
