The Ministry of Defence is securing sensitive data on 20,000 RAF, Army and Navy laptops with technology from BeCrypt.

BeCrypt will provide its Disk Protect Baseline system with authentication tokens for the 20,000 machines and will protect and encrypt data up to "restricted" level.

Disk Protect Baseline is Caps-approved - a security standard used by the armed forces and other government agencies.

The UK armed forces have been at the centre of a number of lost laptop security incidents in the last year.
