Many businesses are reluctant to deployWindows
Vista, a study from the Corporate IT Forum
(TIF), has found.
In the survey of 78 TIF members in listed in the FTSE 100 and
250, 62% of IT managers said they had not yet considered Windows
Vista. A total of 43% said they had no plans to deploy Vista. Some
said they could not see a driver for deploying Vista. Others were
concerned that the size and complexity of Vista would mean they
would need to undertake an expensive PC upgrade programme if they
chose to deploy Vista in their business.
IT managers said they were concerned their existing applications
would be
incompatible with Vista. One company's biggest issue was
NetWare integration, and another said that a fifth of its managed
Windows Application portfolio would not be compatible with
Vista.
