Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust is now monitoring its IT
network across 150 sites using a system supplied by Teneo, which
replaces a CiscoWorks platform.
The trust required a reliable, high-performance
network management system that was scalable and suitable for a
large distributed architecture.
It mostly uses Cisco networking equipment and Cisco recommended
using Castle Rock SNMPc Enterprise, suggesting Teneo as
provider.
SNMPc is a secure distributed network management system that
delivers real-time
network monitoring, allowing users to visualise and proactively
monitor networks.
Using distributed polling agent architecture, it can monitor
from hundreds to tens of thousands of network devices. Users can
access its web-based dashboard consoles from any networked PC.
Benefits include trend analysis reports and real-time network
mapping, which can give early warning of possible problems.
Andy Page, network manager at Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust, said,
"SNMPc enables us to increase efficiency. If a red light shows on
the SNMPc screen, we can get out to the problem straight away and
sort out faults immediately.
"Our network is crucial. For example, we send the data results
of over a million blood samples a year."
