Sybase releases new data management beta

Sybase iAnywherehas released the beta of "Panorama," code-name for the next release of its SQL Anywhere version 11data managementand synchronisation system.

The supplier, a subsidiary of database firm Sybase, said more than 200 new features have been added to SQL Anywhere.

New features include enhanced parallel query capabilities, embedded full-text search, new data-synchronisation options, and .net and Perl stored procedures to aid development.

The full commercial version of the software will be available later this year.

Developers can get the beta programme on Sybase's website.
